Winter is practically here! This cold weather makes us want to run out and buy the warmest jacket we can find. Last week, we compared two women’s Canada Goose jackets. This week, we are looking at men’s bomber jackets between some of our favourite fashion outerwear brands. Canada Goose, Parajumpers, Mackage and Moose Knuckles each offer a take on the down bomber jacket. What sets them apart from one another? Keep reading!
The
Canada Goose Chilliwack Bomber is one of our most popular bombers. Retailing for $795, this jacket encapsulates the iconic style of bush pilots in the Canadian Arctic. This jacket is rated TEI 3 (Fundamental), and will keep you warm in temperatures as low as -10°C/-20°C. The Chilliwack features an adjustable hood with a non-removable coyote fur ruff, interior shoulder straps, and 625 fill-power white duck down. There are four exterior, fleece lined pockets for your convenience, as well as two chest pockets and two lower pockets with Velcro flaps. Heavy duty rib-knit cuffs and waistband keep the cold out, and double reinforced elbows ensure durability no matter what adventures you bring your jacket on. Available in both regular and
Fusion fit– which is designed to accommodate smaller body frames for an overall slimmer fit- you can’t go wrong with a Chilliwack.

Moose Knuckles Ballistic Bomber
Also available for $795 is another Canadian-made coat; the
Moose Knuckles Ballistic Bomber Jacket. With a cotton nylon water repellent outer shell and 620 fill power grey duck down, this bomber is sure to keep you warm and dry on cold winter days. The Ballistic Bomber offers heavy duty front zippers, four front seamed pockets and a detachable hood with blue fox fur. Despite being a waist-length style, this coat’s rib-knit edges serve to keep the wind out. As with all Moose Knuckles outerwear, this jacket features a metal Moose Knuckles logo on the sleeve. This bomber is great for men that prefer a monochromatic look!
We have featured the
Parajumpers Gobi Bomber Jacket
before; it was one of the brand’s first styles! Ringing in at $1,195, the Gobi is a classic choice for a winter bomber. This down jacket features a two way zip that opens at the top and bottom, and the bright yellow tab serves as a nod to Parajumpers; yellow is a signal to find a person in a difficult situation. The Gobi also includes an iPod pocket, cell phone pocket, and cargo pocket for whatever the wearer wishes to store. The men’s and women’s styles are nearly identical, with the exception of a removable interior in the men’s jacket.

Mackage Dixon Bomber
Lastly, we have the $1,050 Mackage Dixon Bomber. This extremely fashionable bomber offers a natural rabbit fur hood lining, and Asiatic racoon fur trim on the oversized hood. A removable down-filled inner bib and collar allow this jacket to function as a transitional piece between seasons. Along with Mackage’s signature leather trims, this bomber features a Napoleon pocket with a leather welt and zipper and a rib-knit cuff and hem for a snug fit. The Dixon is not only fashionable, but also functional; it is crafted with water repellent fabric, a funnel neck, double entry pockets, and nano goose down filling in order to provide maximum warmth. Boasting a comfort zone down to -25°C, the Dixon is a fantastic choice for the fashion forward man.
