The Arc’techs are Sporting Life staff members who share the Arc’teryx ethos with customers and fellow staff members. Through product-focused experiences, the Arc’techs bring Arc’teryx to life in our stores. They create inspiring and informed educational opportunities for their colleagues and memorable Arc’teryx product moments for our customers.

This past week our Arc’techs along with Arc’teryx did a training session in Collingwood to learn more about the new collection, technology and tested the product while hiking.

What is your favourite Arc’teyx product?
Mantis 1 side bag: fits everything I need for the day, whether for activity or just for fashion

What is one highlight from the Arc’tech program?
Getting to be around like minded individuals, learning together and trying things I’ve never done. 

What is your favourite activity?
Gotta be snowboarding!

What is your favourite Arc’teyx product?
Norvan LD3: they’re so comfortable I wear them every day! 

What is one highlight from the Arc’tech program?
Learning new things, trying activities like a Via Ferata in Squamish while testing my Arc’teryx gear.

What is your favourite activity?
Alpine Skiing

What is your favourite Arc’teyx product?
How do I choose?!? I think it has to be my Atom LT, it’s part of the Rebird program, so it’s one of a kind, such a cool story.

What is one highlight from the Arc’tech program?
Being at the Arc’teryx Climbing Academy is such an important memory. The knowledge and experience we gained, the behind the scenes access we were granted that we were able to bring back and share with our teams.

What is your favourite activity?
Hiking the Bruce trail, I love the Tobermory area, but I want to check out the Niagara portions this summer too. 

What is your favourite Arc’teyx product?
The Alpha SV: it was the first jacket they ever made, and it’s still the pinnacle of outerwear design in the industry. The gusseting, the zipper design, for the demanding consumer there’s no better piece

What is one highlight from the Arc’tech program?
Seeing the inner workings of the brand and meeting people involved on the design and manufacturing side, and seeing the perspectives everyone brings from their active lifestyles and puts to use in their products.

What is your favourite activity?
Ice climbing: it puts your knowledge to use, you need gear that will protect you from the elements with minimal weight. Gear that won’t get in the way. 

What is your favourite Arc’teyx product?
The Delta LT: a thin fleece layer that keeps you just warm enough without the bulk. I have two! I end up wearing one almost daily most seasons

What is one highlight from the Arc’tech program?
Drawing on my fellow Arctechs experiences to raise the collective knowledge throughout Sporting Life.

What is your favourite activity?
Winter hiking and snowshoeing: being out in nature, exploring the place you live so you don’t take it for granted. Arc’teryx gear helps you do it comfortably. 

What is your favourite Arc’teyx product?
Atom LT: a lightweight synthetic jacket that can be worn on its own or as a midlayer. 

What is one highlight from the Arc’tech program?
Our experiences at the Arc’teryx Climbing Academy! Firsthand experience with products and access to the whole Arc team, learning from them and taking that knowledge back to my team at the Yonge St. store

What is your favourite activity?
Alpine skiing at Mount Tremblant and Collingwood, where I’ve been skiing for years. 

What is your favourite Arc’teyx product?
The Beta AR: my first piece, all the features I want. I love the high collar, and nothing beats Gore Tex Pro for waterproofing.

What is one highlight from the Arc’tech program?
Getting insight into the design process behind seasonal drops and bringing that info back to our customers and staff in-store. It closes the loop, you’re able to answer questions yourself without reaching out a rep. 

What is your favourite activity?
Hiking: our trip to Cypress falls is a highlight, the moss covered rocks felt so different from other places I’ve hiked. 

We will continue our product training throughout the season and will be finding unique ways to activate with colleagues and customers in store. Come and find us on your next visit.
